The Death of the Sunpool

Hawkstar approached the camp, his body tense and ready for some random Stormclan cat to jump out and attack him. He felt Hazelstar follow next to him. He slipped into the camp, rising a shield against the hostile glares that were immediatly shot torwards him. "Mutestar!" he called out. "We must speak with you!"

Riverberry quickly caught up to the Frostclan leader, a bit startled to find him there. But, then again, it made sense as to why Nightfrost was there. But why wasn't Violetstar there? "Hello, Hawktalon," she said quietly with a small bow, unaware as to the fact that the tom was no longer a deputy and now a leader. "Where's Violetstar?"[/font]

Mutestar emraged from her den as she let her body easily move slowly to Hawkstar and Hazelstar, "What is Starclan are you two doing here?" she meowed. Her ghostly white body plopped down on the floor and noticed the fear in their eyes. Her voice wasn't as strict anymore and sighed. "Come in my den." she raised to her paws slowly as the tense she-cat slipped into her broken den.

Once inside the moonlight shone through a small crack, on the cats pelt; making them glow like Starclan cats. "So who wants to start?" she asked wrapping her tail around her ghostly body.

Riverberry stopped at the entrance and gave Mutestar a small bow before sitting down, allowing the three leaders to talk amongst themselves. She smelled Iceflower in the medicine cat den and smiled, padding over to her. How about a little 'hello' to her friend?[/font]

Hawkstar nodded and began to speak. "The Sunpool is gone. Destroyed. Its waters has seeped into the earth. But Starclan is still with us," he said, saying the last sentence with confidence he didn't know was in him. Starclan was still with them. He said it over and over in his head, as if trying to make it come true.

Hazelstar looked over at Hawkstar, her eyes wide with worry as she nodded briefly. Then she turned back to Mutestar, her tail wrapped around her paws. "Everything he says is true- I traveled there to see if StarClan had anything to share with us, and thats when I met Hawkstar there!"

Hazelstar began to think about what could happen now- since the Sunpool was gone, where would they share tongues with StarClan?

She wondered what StormClan would think- after all, they had always wanted the Sunpool to be part of their own territory. But now, since it was gone, what would anyone think if they were to find out?

"Would you like to see it for yourself?" Hawkstar asked, just in case Mutestar didn't believe them. He knew that he wouldn't believe any cat, even if it was his own deputy, if they said that the Sunpool was gone. The possibility of that happening seemed like 0, but experience told him otherwise.

"I believe you." then paused raising to her paws, "But how can you say Starclan is still with us, when Sunpool is ours? I mean if the pool is gone..then we don't have any other way to take to Starclan." she meowed pacing around her den back and forth. "Have you told Mistclan yet?" she asked, blinking as she can hear the sounds of the crickets singing.

Damppaw sat beside Hazelstar as the two cats confessed to the Stormclan leader that the Sunpool was gone. She remained quiet, but then her leader asked the shattering question: how were they going to share tounges with Starclan? Damppaw's mind reeled untill it came to her, and she spoke up.

"I believe that Starclan is just as shocked about this tragety (sp?) as we are," the apprentice begain, "but the Sunpool is not the only way Starclan can reach us. They can still reach us in our dreams, and if Starclan still has faith in the clans, then that is what they would do, im sure of it." Damppaw finished speaking and awkardly sat down next to Hazelstar again, because she knew she had spoke out of turn, and waited for the harsh retort from her leader.

"Damppaw is correct. Starclan will contact us," Hawkstar said, fairly confident in his words. "I will be telling Mistclan next. But, first, I wish to go to the Sunpool once again. Hazelstar," he said, turning to the Nightclan leader. "Will you go to Mistclan first? Or are you also going to go to the Sunpool?"

Damppaw breathed a sigh of relief when Hawkstar backed her up with reasurring words. After all she'd been through, somebody who actually found truth in her words was like finding water after walking through a huge desert. The only question left was for Hazelstar: was she going back to the sunpool or to Mistclan. the news would be heart-breaking either way The apprentice thought to herself, but she would follow.

Hazelstar had no choice. The Sunpool was already gone- and her clan must be getting worried for her. "I think it's my duty to tell MistClan," she spoke firmly.

She wanted to return to the Sunpool, hoping everything that she had seen had all just been a dream, but she knew her wish would be left unanswerd. Maybe StarClan had a better way of communicating.

She looked at the two leaders, a strange feeling emanating from her eyes. "Until we meet again, I grant you luck in your communication with StarClan. Everyone is going to need it."

With her eerie words, Hazelstar signaled her apprentice towards the entrance of camp. "Mutestar, do you need a patrol to escort us out of your territory?

Mutestar raised to her paws, "Ahh, yes. Riverberry will escort you out of the territory." she meowed. The ghostly white she-cat dipped her head to Hazelstar and then to Hawkstar, "Good luck both of you." The she-cat closed her icey blue eyes and twitched her tail as she stared at the crack from her den, the stars sparkling, Ohh, Starclan.. she thought sadly.

[ I should have named Mutestar, Fangstar. xD Mutestar is nothing but nice. ]

Hawkstar bowed slightly to the leader of Stormclan before exiting the den. He went over to Nightfrost and told him to get back to the camp and inform the cats that he would not be back at camp for a while longer. "I'll try to get back as soon as I can, but in the case that I'm not, I want you to look over the patrols, since Silverwind can't," the tom said before sprinting out of Stormclan's camp, racing torwards Sunpool.
