Hawkstar stopped at the bottom of the Sunhill, waiting for the rest of the patrol to catch up. He took a few deep breathes before looking around. All this territory... His. No, his whole clan's. His whole clan. This feeling of power was very exciting for him, but he kept this excitement to himself, knowing that getting excited over power would be considered bad. [/sup]

Nightfrost stared at Hawkstar, leading his clan with a gentle pride. ]He felt a strange feeling arise from within him- a feeling of want. I want that power...I want that strength and leadership! It should be me, me me!! A sudden urge of anger sprang through him, and he had to bite his lower lip in able calm himself down.
He took a deep breath and sighed. After the strange, mysterious feeling of unnatural anger left him, he began to feel weak at heart. What was he thinking? These ambitions are growing worse.. he thought to himself.
But who could he go to? No one would understand- he didn't quite understand the feelings himself! Instead of thinking, Nightfrost continued the patrol, skimming behind his leader and pushing his horrible ambitious thoughts to the back of his mind.

Hawkstar felt a flash of anger coming from Nightfrost and glanced at the warrior. He thought he saw jealousy in Nightfrost's eyes, but shook his head slightly. Nightfrost was a kind warrior, and he would never be ambitious, or power-hungry, and even if he was, it was understandable. Even he himself was power-hungry. Hawkstar felt a stab of guilt when he remembered how he had felt when Violetstar (made-up leader of Frostclan) had died. Shame made him close his eyes as he remembered how immense sorrow and small bits of greedy joy had mixed together. He still doubted himself as a good warrior, so how could one expect him to think of himself as a good leader? It still didn't make sense to him why Violetstar had appointed him as deputy in the first place. Hawkstar opened his eyes about two seconds after he had closed them and continued walking. "Okay, we want to mark our territory clearly, but not enough so that it looks like we're threatening Mistclan, all right?" [/sup]

Dampleaf shook her head to shoo off a fly. This patroll was taking FOREVER. She yawned and climbed the sunhill as slowly as she could. (man this patroll is seriously taking, like, a month, i swear )

|That's 'cause no one's posting. -_-| Hawkstar carefully marked the border of Frostclan, watching as the other cats did the same. He flicked his tail as a signal to get moving and bounded down the hill, heading for the Grassy Fields. [/sup] |Continued at Grassy Fields...|
