Who supports it? If you don't know the theory, I've copied it from my website (Nw) for you here. It's a very intriguing thought that makes sense if you plug in the clues:
The JayLeafCrow theory is just that- it's the idea that Jaypaw is actually the son of Leafpool and Crowfeather. Some people (like me) think that Jaypaw was born in secrecy, and that no other clan cat knows except Leafpool and possibly her sister. Here's some background evidence.
In 'The Sight,' while Jaypaw retorts Tigerstar in the Place of No Stars, Tigerstar says "How could kin of mine say such a thing?" This hints that Jaypaw doesn't have their bloodline or their thought. Not Brambleclaw's, that is. And if Jaypaw isn't the son of Brambleclaw, than Crowfeather would be the next bet.
Also, think about Jaypaw's attitude. His scornful remarks, his quick wit and stubborness. He even looks a bit like Crowfeather! He has greyish-black fur, and blue eyes. Crowfeather has dark gray fur and blue eyes. Coincidence? I think not.
Another bit of evidence lies in the prophecy- when Leafpool see's the three stars in the sky. Well she saw them, not Squirrelflight. That also theorizes that Hollypaw and Lionpaw are also Leafpool's, but that is a bit more conspiratorial. Also, think of this passage.
"Do you have a sign for me?" she asked, giving all her attention to the three StarClan warriors.
"Not exactly," meowed Bluestar. "But we wanted to tell you that the path of your life will twist in ways yet hidden from you."
"Yes." Yellowfang's voice was dry, with an edge to it that made Leafpool almost certain the old medicine cat knew something she wasn't telling. "You will tread a path that few medicine cats have walked before you."
It's important to realize that Yellowfang said this- she had kits behind the back of her clan, so it might be symbolic that a medicine cat would tell her this. She also had a dry voice- as if remembering all the troubles of her broken relationship. She also ads in the 'few medicine cats have walked before,' which might refer to herself.
Somewhere near the end of 'Sunset,' Brambleclaw notices that Leafpool has gained some weight. It could be because their is more food, but it could also be because she is pregnant. Also remember that pregnant cats eat more.
Also, think about how excited Leafpool was when Jaypaw unwillingly said he would be her apprentice. Remember, this was before she knew about his special ability of traveling amongst the stars. When Hollypaw said that she would become the next medicine cat apprentice (before she decided to become a warrior), it said that Leafpool's gaze was looking across the clearing at her sister, Squirrelflight, with an expression that Hollypaw couldn't read. Plug in the clues- it's not that hard!
Here's another clue. Read this passage:
"Sometimes I dream about when I was very small, traveling through snow," he confessed. "Is that right? That wasn't the Great Journey, was it?"
Tension crackled through Leafpool's fur. "No, the Great Journey was long before you were born. But your... your mother did make a long journey with you through the snow when you were very small. You were born outside the hollow, and she had to wait until you were all strong enough to travel."
Notice that Leafpool had tension while answering this subject. She seems to speak this slowly, as if making sure that no information seeps out. What information though- the information that they were her kits? Also think about when she stumbles first. "But your...your mother did make a long journey with you-" First off, Leafpool didn't say her sister's name. She said, 'your mother.' Think about it- she's a medicine cat. She was thinking about her statement very carefully, making sure that she didn't lie or slip out any truths. This quote means one thing; Leafpool had her kittens away from ThunderClan camp, possibly either by the Moonpool or by WindClan (to be with Crowfeather), and after her kitting, she gave the kits to her sister to raise. They would have a similar smell, if you think about it. They are sisters. And the long journey away would cover any scent of Leafpool on the kits.
Think about another prophecy. "Three will come, kin of your kin, who hold the power of the stars in their paws." It doesn't say kin of the orange daughter, does it? If Jaypaw was Crowfeather and Leafpool's kit, than Jaypaw is still Firestar's grandchild!
Also said in the Sight- someone said that Squirrelflight never did like staying in the nursery during pregnancy- she was up and back on her Warrior duties as soon as she could. Maybe that's because she was never really pregnant- because Leafpool was! A cat who recently gave birth would be tired for moons- she'd have to regain her strength. But Squirrelflight went right out of the nursery when she got the chance! It also said that Squirrelflight's milk never came- that Ferncloud nursed them instead. Could be be that Squirrelflight was never really pregnant? In The Sight, on page 5, paragraph 9, after Ferncloud reprimands Jaykit for playing too roughly in the nursery, it says that Ferncloud had nursed Jaypaw, Hollypaw, and Lionpaw when "Squirrelflight's milk had not come...".
Before Jaypaw falls into the lake, he says that he loves the feel of the wind in his face. About how natural it felt. He goes on about this for a while before falling in the water. Think about it- Crowfeather is a WindClan cat. It would be genetic that Jaypaw would want to feel the wind in his face if he was born with a WindClan father! And think about after that- when Crowfeather found him. He never once asked for his name. Did he already know his name, because it was his kin? Had Leafpool told him? And the way he acted towards Jaypaw- it wasn't typical Crowfeather if you read it over. It was more of a stern, father-son talking. As if he was trying to teach by punishment, rather than just being angry.
Another thing to note is when Crowfeather escorts Jaypaw back to camp, after he had saved Lionpaw and Breezpaw from the badger set. He tells him that he had 'acted like a warrior.' Why would Crowfeather, a short-tempered arrogant warrior show so much praise and affection so suddenly?
Something even more eeiree, is the fact that Yellowfang, the medicine cat of ThunderClan, killed her own son that she wasn't suppose to have because he was evil. It would be terribly ironic if Jaypaw, who is already having evil thoughts and intentions, followed the path of Brokenstar.
Not solid evidence, but interesting. Crowfeather's first part of his name is Crow- which is a bird. Think of Jaypaw- his first part is Jay. Jay is a sub species of birds (think Blue Jay and the Stellers Jay). If Leafpool got to name her child, it would be cute to name Jaypaw after her love, Crowfeather. Like I said, not solid evidence, but interesting.
Here's a quote from Vicky when a fan asked a question:
Saharastar: DO Leafpool and Crowfeather have kits together?
VickyHolmes: This would be way too much of a spoiler! Wait and see, Saharastar...
Well, why would they conceal the answer to this? Just a straightforward no would leave us no room to question. But this endless answer makes it up to our imagination.
Also, think about Leafpool's connection with StarClan! Her connection has been extremely strong- think about it. Then, look at Jaypaw. If he was able to pick up his looks and personality from the WindClan tom, than what would he be able to pick up with Leafpool? Maybe he picked up Leafpool's strong sense with StarClan!
